Baza, Caniles and the Altiplano.

The town of Baza is a very old market town. With a history that stretches as far back as 2000 BC and beyond it offers a fascinating insight into the life of the earliest European settlers. The Dama de Baza (some of the earliest art found in Europe) was discovered just a few years ago and archaeological digs continue to unearth new finds.

Present day Baza is a busy town with a huge variety of bars and restaurants. Tapas are served free with drinks and add greatly to the simple pleasure of enjoying a drink in the sun! Shopaholics will love the numerous little shops - where you can buy anything from high fashion to a hand made guitar.
